About Baraka
I am passionate about breaking the stigma and shame surrounding mental health, particularly within Black Christian immigrant communities. My commitment to this work is shaped by witnessing the mental health challenges within these communities and a desire to create culturally responsive, compassionate, and trauma-informed spaces where individuals feel seen, supported, and empowered to pursue healing.
As a therapist with Soul Care Christian Counselling & Consulting, I strive to create a safe and supportive space where individuals can experience healing, growth, and transformation.
My therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based practices with faith-based principles, where desired, while helping clients recognize the strengths and resources they already possess. I draw from narrative therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and family systems approaches, grounded in a trauma-informed and strengths-based perspective.
Whether you are navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, or stress related to work or school, my hope is to walk alongside you as you develop greater self-awareness, resilience, and emotional well-being.
I believe therapy is a collaborative journey, and I strive to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and empowered to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence.
I look forward to connecting with you and supporting you on your healing journey!
