Our clinical lens

How we work

Every therapist on our team is trained in evidence based care.

Therapeutic modalities include CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, emotionally focused therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, solution focused brief therapy and strengths based care.

Person centred

You are the expert on your own life. We follow your pace and your goals.

Trauma informed

We ask what happened to you, not what is wrong with you, and we build safety first.

Post traumatic growth

Beyond surviving, we help you find meaning, strength and new life after hard things.

Faith integrated

Prayer, scripture and spiritual questions are welcome whenever you want them. If faith is not part of your story right now, you are welcome here too.

Culturally rooted

We understand how culture, family, migration and community shape who you are and how you heal.

Culturally responsive care

Culture matters

Your culture shapes how you see the world, how you grieve, how you love and how you heal. We honour that in every session, whatever your background. As a team with African and Caribbean roots, we know firsthand how much it means to be truly understood.

What we honour

Community

We heal together. The people who hold you up are part of your story.

Identity

Who you are and where you come from matter here.

Heritage

Your culture is a strength, never something to leave at the door.

Honour

We honour your family, your elders and the generations before you.

Faith

Faith has carried many communities through hard seasons, and it is welcome here.

Joy

Joy is part of healing. We make room to laugh, celebrate and rest.

The five pillars of soul care

The pillars that hold up our work

Everything above rests on these. They guide how we partner with you through the healing process.

01

Spiritual care

Make space for faith, lament, hope and emotional wholeness.

Spirituality has always been at the heart of our communities, and wherever we have gone, we have carried it with us. As Christian therapists, our faith is woven into who we are and how we work. We focus on emotional wholeness and emotionally healthy spirituality. If you do not consider yourself religious or spiritual, you are still welcome here, however you identify.

02

Body care

Notice how stress lives in the body and build rhythms of rest.

Our bodies hold what we have been through. As Dr. Bessel van der Kolk writes in The Body Keeps the Score, unresolved trauma can show up as tension, headaches, chest pain or exhaustion. We help you listen to your body, care for it and build rhythms of rest, because your body is a gift worth tending.

03

Self love and acceptance

Practise compassion, boundaries and self support.

You are seen, you are loved and you are valued. Many of us have been told, in quiet ways and loud ones, that we are not enough. We help you let go of those false messages and stand in the truth of who you are, and who you were created to be.

04

Community

Heal in spaces where you feel safe, seen and supported.

Healing happens in belonging. Community is any space where you feel loved, supported and safe enough to be yourself. It can be found among trusted friends, family, a partner, your church or like minded people, and we help you build it and lean into it.

05

Mindfulness

Be still, be present and process your emotions.

Life moves fast, and there is rarely time to be still. For communities that have carried generations of stress and trauma, stillness can be deeply restorative. Mindfulness creates space to notice what you feel, work through it and be present. You can practise it through daily gratitude, journaling, a walk outside or simply sitting in silence.
